For your information: The Alliance Francaise Institute is now situated right opposite Brenart

With so many artists living in the vicinity of Pasadena our agenda is filling up very quickly and we have shows
booked through until 2008. However, we encourage all local artists to contact us and arrange to bring in their work
so that we can see what possibilities are available. At Brenart, we want most of all to help the local community of
artists and give them a place to showcase their work. We believe that in our establishment Pasadena residents
have more opportunity to observe and appreciate the artwork than in a traditional gallery setting where, all to often,
the entrance is closed with a "by appointments only" sign hanging on the door. We also offer to all artists the
possibility to showcase their work on the 50" Plasma TV screen that we have installed in-house and on which we
show artwork in a slide show format using DVD's.
An additional help we offer to local artists is to leave their cards on a corner of the counter where our clientel can
look through them.
Last year from Mid December through Mid January we organized our first Brenart Public Appreciation Award.
Art Openings at Brenart have been very well attended and we believe that our reputation for organizing successful
events is well deserved.
The café restaurant ambiance allows prospective buyers more time to look at the work, appreciate the quality and to
consider purchasing.
Art sales have been quite good, both at the openings and during the time of the exhibition.
We believe that Brenart, first and foremost is there to give exposure to the artists work.
We have seen that Exposure leads to Appreciation, that leads to Recognition, that leads to Sales. During an
exhibition we publish the artist's work on our own website and on other websites linked to ours and also include a
statement about the artist on our menus and on the Plasma screen. The details of our exhibition are usually
published in the local newspapers as additional publicity and, last of all, it should be mentioned that our team of
servers is always ready to promote sales when clients express interest in the work.
So, having said all this, come on in to Brenart all you Pasadena Art Lovers. There is some great art work to see. If
you have a space on the wall that needs embellishing, or if you are redecorating and need new paintings, (or maybe
you'd like to buy a special gift for someone) come and take a look at Brenart.

Brenart is currently exhibiting an earth
sculpture by Fredie Cumberland titled
"Winged Angel"

The sculpture is of a winged foot balanced
on a rock base and is dedicated to the
memory of USC kicker
Mario Danelo.
The artist hopes to present the sculpture to USC
as a tribute to the young footballer whose life
ended so prematurely.

great son.

This past Christmas day I began working on a
new earth sculpture inspired by this magnificent
wing. Later, on hearing the news of Mario's death,
the work took on a special meaning and I felt
compelled to dedicate it to his memory.
I was struck by the tragedy; that someone so
young, so athletic, so full of life that he seemed
almost able to fly could be so prematurely swept
away.
"Winged Angel" represents the god Mercury - the
messenger of the gods - fleet of foot and able to
succeed in all things. However, in the statue, the
god is no longer eternal. The foot is lifeless. Only
the wing which sustains the spirit lives on. We all
live on the memories of those that knew us. I
know that I will remember Mario Danelo."
