John Chang (Abstract)
"Originally my art was representational with variations on the human form. In recent years, I've moved away from complex,
structural detail toward line and form, away from the concrete and toward the abstract. As I work, I blend and unify Eastern
And Western influences and techniques. Chinese ink painting and history are combined with Western abstraction and
collage. My compositions use abstracted human forms that are Western in appearance, but created with the brushes,
papers, textures and brush strokes traditional to the Far East".

Carlos M.Galindo (Abstract)

Kris Cahill (Abstract)
Kris works with an unusual technique; her paintings are made of clear vinyl, which she paints on in reverse with acrylic

"I have the desire to produce an impact n people, I want
them to be unsettled, and perhaps start the process of
change toward life and themselves, either consciously
or unconsciously"
Michael A. Hidalgo
"Cloudscapes are a reflection of the natural world, I
paint them not to illustrate a specific place, but rather to
express an idea, a feeling an emotion or a moment in
time
"Cityscapes are a reflection of the built work-urban
environment. I paint them as an abstract
representation of the urban scene using color to
express the atmosphere. The choice of colors depicts
a mood or feeling about the place""

Vahe Bedrosian
Artist's statement
" My name is Vahe Bedrosian and it turns out that I am a
hell of a story teller. Now and then I see or think of
something that makes me want to stop everybody,
shake them and say: " Hey, look at this. It will be worth
your while". That is when I paint. Sometimes, I even get
lucky and create. That is when I "high five" myself"
Carmella M. Sawyers
Artist's statement
" This exhibition reflects my interests in the convergence
of mythology, dreams and symbols. Key influences
include the Neo-Surrealists and the Surrealists,
especially Rene Magritte. With these works, I seek to
evoke a fresh reaction to familiar subjects and themes
through atypical associations".
Vahe Bedrosian                         Carmella M.Sawyers

February/April 2008
To coincide with an article published in the February edition of the Pasadena Arroyo Magazine, Brenart Café Gallery has
decided to show
Vahe Bedrosian's work for a second time. The exhibition includes recent paintings and works
from more than 20 years ago that are connected across the expanse of time by the theme of love. Vahe's previous
exhibition was well appreciated by the public. Since February is the month of Valentine's day and Vahe's paintings are
about love we decided to celebrate the occasion and to promote his work once again
Luigi Dezza (oil painting)
Luigi was born in Tuscany (Italy). His grandfather was a passionate artist and inspired him to become a painter. After
arriving in California, he realized that he could use the same palette techniques to render the Mediterranean light to
express the luminosity of the Californian Landscape.
Dana Chakim (oil painting)
As far as Dana remembers, she has always loved painting. For Dana, painting is the best way to express her feelings and
to communicate those feelings to others. She has participated in numerous art shows throughout the country and abroad.
