For a Taste of Art
Brenart Café Gallery opened on August 2006. Being originally from Belgium we wanted to create a
decor that is reminiscent of a French-Belgian Bistro.
We offer great food, great prices and in addition there are some fantastic artworks on the walls
that are also for sale.
Don't know much about Belgium? Well, here is some info....It exists as such since 1830. There are
about 10 millions Belgians. The most famous ones are probably the fictitious characters Hercule
Poirot (Agatha Christie's famous detective) and
Tintin (here below)
From the long tradition of Belgian artists you'll probably know of Rubens and Brueghel (to name only two) and
more recently Magritte. And if we come to Belgian gastronomy...mmmm..... who has not heard of Belgian
chocolate, waffles, mussels and frites... Follow that with a Belgian Beer and Life is Great!!!
So we are from Belgium and we want to delight you with our passion for food, drink and art.

We are also part of the Brenart International Group that owns and operates art galleries and whose
activities include the promotion and exchange of international art works.

We are located at 53 E. Union Street in Old Town Pasadena

Here's a little story taken from a Californian journal
that shows this most unjust of reputation
concerning Belgian astuteness has crossed the
Atlantic pond.
The U.S Federal Aviation Administration has a
rather unique way of testing the resistance of
aircraft cockpit windows to the impact of flying
birds. They have developed a special cannon that
shoots dead chickens at plane windows at speed
that simulate normal aircraft speeds. The
assumption is that, during this experiment the
cockpit window remains intact, then a real
collision in-flight would also leave the window
undamaged.
The Belgians ask the Americans if they can borrow
the cannon to test the strength of the front window
of their new ultra fast bullet trains. After setting up
the experiment the Belgians fire round after round
of dead chickens at "speeding" trains. Each time
they try the experiment the windows explode even
though they are made of the same resistant glass
as aircraft cockpit windows. Not only do the
chickens penetrate the glass, they also crash
through the control console and rip through the
train driver's seat.
The Belgians are totally perplexed and send off an
urgent communication to the Americans asking
them to verify the results of their tests.
The Americans redo the tests for the Belgians and
realize that the hardy Belgians had forgotten one
essential thing in order to get the results needed...
The FAA communication in response reads: " Next
time don't forget to DEFROST the chickens!!!".
